Alpha Gamma Delta

Delta Rho Chapter at Sonoma State University

Chapter Philanthropy & Service

We enjoy volunteering with local organizations throughout the year such as the local hospitals, Operation Gratitude, Redwood Empire Food Bank, Social Advocates for Youth, Sonoma County Humane Society, local schools, Habitat for Humanity, and many more fantastic organizations that benefit our community. In addition, we love to participate in philanthropy events hosted by our Panhellenic sisters including Greek Day of Service, Gamma Phi Beta's Powderpuff Tournament, Alpha Omicron Pi's Strike out Arthritis, and many other lovely events.

Alpha Gamma Delta’s international philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. There are two main aspects of the Foundation, the first being diabetes education and awareness. Providing grants and scholarships to sisters in need is the second platform of the Foundation. The Delta Rho chapter raises money through various events throughout the school year. Our main event is Lip Jam, which is a lip-syncing and dancing competition. Lip Jam 2016 raised over $50,000, making us the top fundraising chapter internationally for the 2014-2016 biennium.

Philanthropy is a huge part of what makes our chapter have such a strong sisterhood. We strive to achieve the words that are stated in our Purpose, "To welcome to opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where I am placed because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied."
